Combined Fauna & Venomous Snake Handling Training Course
For those time poor seeking a single day course that covers content from both our Snake and Fauna Handling Courses
May 1, 2024
Winter is on its way. Chilly nights are upon us, and many are no doubt relieved that reptiles, and snakes in particular, are beginning their winter slumbers.
Brumation is the term usually used to describe the months of inactivity undertaken by reptiles. However, some cold tolerant species, like Tiger snakes, can be active any time during winter, especially on sunny days.
Here at Animal Ark, we are still a hive of activity – despite some staff sickness we are busy training, and train throughout autumn and winter. We are also preparing for the next spring and summer Snake Avoidance season.
You can see upcoming dates and locations here – book soon as dates seem to fill up way in advance.

Many myths surround venomous snakes and non-venomous species.
Could you tell the difference between a venomous snake and python out in the wild?
Our poster “Can You Spot the Venomous?” is a prime example of how varied our Australian snakes can look and therefore how dangerous it is to guess.
Just don’t touch it – it’s really not worth it.
