I’m sure we have all heard of Stonehenge, but have you heard about Wurdi Youang, a stone formation built over 11,000 years ago here in Australia?
Wurdi Youang site is found west of Melbourne and was constructed, it is thought, like Stonehenge to track the suns movement. It is believed to be the oldest astronomical observatory in the world. Constructed by the Wathaurong people it is much older than Stonehenge and even the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. There are other similar sites around Australia only now being found and interpreted. They may be small in stature, but are significant.
